All acoustic performers invited. Fifteen acts are selected randomly from those who sign up to perform 8 minutes (or 2 songs) each. The most talented and popular Open Stage performers are offered their own evenings at the Ark. $3 (members & students, $2). [venue info]

The Black Pearl: Chris Genteel

Rock and soul covers and originals by this local singer-songwriter. [venue info]

The Blind Pig: The Sins of Our Fathers

Detroit metal-hardcore band. Opening acts are the Ypsilanti indie rock band Skeleton Birds, the Ypsilanti experimental noise band Better Late than Pregnant, and the psychedelic-pop quartet Januzzi Watchmen. [venue info]

Elbow Room: Secret Twins

Local garage punk quartet. Opening acts are Lexington (KY) singer-songwriter Chris Soulis, the Detroit psychedelic Americana band Bad Medicine at the Campfire, and Detroit punk singer-songwriter Kommie Kilpatrick. [venue info]

Goodnite Gracie: Big Blue Cosmic

Textured instrumentals performed on the guitar-harp, electric cello, and guitar by local musician Dan Orcutt. [venue info]

The Habitat Ultralounge: Identical Strangers

Classic rock by the Windsor duo of vocalist Danielle Samson and guitarist Scott Giles. [venue info]

Live at PJ's: Los Gatos

Mambos and cha-chas by this local Latin jazz band led by drummer Pete Siers that specializes in the music of Cal Tjader, the late San Francisco vibes player who ignited the 1950s mambo craze. With beginning (8:45 p.m.) & intermediate (10 p.m.) dance lessons and a dance contest (11 p.m.) with prizes. [venue info]
